mja speaks in texas & quebec
MJA embarked on a brief speaking tour, from the southern USA to the great white north.
First he took part in the 45th Silicon Symposium in Lubbock, Texas, where he delivered a talk entitled ‘Reconsidering the Perception of Silicon in Organic Chemistry’. He also met a number of talented and kind chemists, including Prof. Martin Oestreich (TU Berlin), who is joined in the accompanying picture by MJA and Buddy Holly’s Peggy Sue.
Up next was the 96th Canadian Chemistry Conference and Exhibition in Quebec City, Canada. He was honored to deliver his lecture ‘Towards a Dynamic Covalent Molecular Switch’ in the session during which Prof. Drew Woolley (University of Toronto) was awarded the 2013 CSC Teva Canada Limited Biological and Medicinal Chemistry Lectureship Award. MJA also enjoyed exploring the beautiful city and taking some candid photos.
